gallnut gray | narrow squared runner
gallnut gray | narrow squared runner
Hand dyed and hand stitched, this runner will accent your table!
To create this runner I begin with washing, mordanting and dying the fabric a base color. Next, for the first layer of pattern, the linen is dyed with gall nut extract and then ferrous acetate, incorporating a clamp-resist (shibori) technique. When the fabric is dry, I add hand stitching for another layer of surface design. To finish, the hem is stitched by machine and pressed to finish.
fabric: medium-weight textured linen
care: Hand wash with mild shampoo, air dry and steam press on linen setting
size: 6" x 85" (can be made in other sizes)
notes: keep hand dyed fabrics out of direct sunlight
