split pea green ramie scarf
split pea green ramie scarf
Airy ramie, joyful elegance!
To create this scarf I began with washing the fabric. The next steps include tannin, mordant and dying the fabric a base color. For the first layer of pattern, I used osage, madder and ferrous, incorporating a clamp-resist (shibori) technique. Then, after drying, I used hand block printing and hand painting to add another layer of surface design. After setting the fabric, the scarf is machine hemmed and pressed.

care: hand wash with mild shampoo, air dry and steam press on silk setting
