madder orange ramie scarf

madder orange ramie scarf

$350.00

Wear this soft orange color as a neutral—it will go with everything!

To create this scarf I began with washing the fabric. The next steps include tannin, mordant and dying the fabric a base color. For the first layer of pattern, I used madder root and osage, incorporating a clamp-resist (shibori) technique. Then, after drying, I hand block printed the fabric to add another layer of surface design. After setting, the scarf is hand hemmed and pressed.
